The colors in these photos are unintentionally similar. It must be that they're the colors of fall.

Picture 1. East Austin Studio Tours was this weekend. This is the 8th year where for two consecutive weekends, the artists in my neighborhood open their homes and studios and the public is invited to peek and purchase. There were more than 150 studios on this year's tour. Going around made me realize: (a) my neighborhood is awesome, (b) Austin has so much going on (c) I need to feel less restless more often so that I can remember that my neighborhood and Austin are amazing, (d) I want to stop skirting my creative interests and have a studio that is part of EAST.

Picture 2. I don't consider myself much of a cook but I'm starting to realize that soups are my thing. I made hot n sour soup today on the recommendation of Rob. He said it would cure me of the sinus hell I've been living in and with. Even without a recipe, it turned out mighty fine. I was surprised when Jenni told me today that cooks are judged by their abilities to make soups and a perfectly cooked eggs. Funny, eggs are just shy of a passion. Poached eggs, scrambled eggs, eggs with soldier toast, egg in a hole, eggs benedict, and ...

Picture 3. I caught Cherry in a moment of either (a) stalker obsession or (b) endearing love. I think she thought I had left the house or something because I found her where she waits for me while I'm away -- right in front of the door. I already had a sneaking suspicion that she liked to hug my favorite shoes while I'm away. Now that suspicion is confirmed.
